About the Creator
CarSchoolr was created by Aarav Puri, a developer passionate about building community-driven solutions that make everyday life easier for families.
As a student, Aarav noticed that coordinating carpools for his own family was unnecessarily complicated. His family carpooled with another family, but keeping track of who was driving on which days and ensuring fair distribution of responsibilities was a constant challenge. To solve this, Aarav started with a Python script that automatically sent email notifications to ensure everyone knew their responsibilities, making coordination effortless.
He then expanded this into a full app. It was a simple weekly schedule tracker that displayed drop and pick times for each day of the week. The app showed a clean weekly view with each day's drop (morning/to school) and pick (afternoon/from school) assignments, rotating between families using round-robin logic. The legend clearly distinguished between drop and pick times, and families could see the entire week at a glance, including special periods like winter break.
But Aarav realized the problem was even larger. His school lacked an organized carpool system, and many families struggled to find carpool partners in the first place. This inspired him to expand his solution into CarSchoolr, a full matching platform that connects families directly based on compatible schedules, locations, and schools, making it easier for everyone to form carpool groups from the start.
The mission behind CarSchoolr is simple: create a transparent, community-first platform that empowers families to coordinate carpools without intermediaries or hidden fees. Every feature is designed with real families in mind, from the smart matching algorithm to the interactive map view. All of it builds on the foundation of that original schedule coordination app.
